It covers ways to envision, project and speculate about what might happen in the future, based on what we know or assume about the past and present. We see these techniques as different types of lenses through which we can observe the complexities of reality as it unfolds. Whichever technique is applied, however (in)formally, a speculative exercise should enable us to more clearly see where we are, where we would or wouldn’t like to go, in order to adapt our current situation accordingly. We invite the reader to use these techniques enhanced by a playful 'what-if' mindset, and see what emerges...  This section contains techniques that have fascinated humans for aeons.
