-artists Evelina Domnitch & Dmitry Gelfand send a probe through the slight space of a soap bubble membrane allowing a different perspective on our embryonic cosmological past. ‘A Vacuum or semi-vacuum encased within a gravity and temperature sensitive elastic skin – the scenario of an early universe’. The probe in this case is a laser beam that scans the emergent thermodynamic surface patterns of the bubble which refracts back to us images of galactic whorls and vortexes. This piece is performed in Sphaerae.

+The original proto-cell, a direct chemical ancestor of lipid membranes, soap ﬁlm comprised the foam of the primordial prebiotic soup. The sensitive skin of a soap bubble is capable of swallowing laser light as if it were conﬁned by a waveguide antenna. In this performance, bubble-trapped laser beams reveal the biomorphic molecular dynamics inside of soap ﬁlm membranes.  The piece becomes s symbiont in  Sphaerae: a multi dome inflatable, which is an enlargement of 5 colliding soapbubbles //portablepalace.com www.sphaerae.net
